Application Process

The deadline to submit an application for the 2011 Leadership Austin Essential Class was Monday, June 14. All applicants will be notified of their selection status via a written letter mailed during the week of August 9, 2010. Applying for the Essential Class generally follows the following schedule: applications are available for download on this page beginning in late April or early May; completed applications are due back to the Leadership Austin office in mid-June; candidates are notified of their selection status in early August; and the program begins in September.

Please note that all applicants must meet the following qualifications:

Applicant is at least 28 years of age as of the application deadline.
Applicant has lived continuously in the Greater Austin area for one year as of the application deadline.
Applicant cannot be a candidate for public office at the time of application.
Applicant is willing and able to commit the time necessary to complete the program. Mandatory time commitments are outlined in the application form.
