Summary:
The Austin Community has come together to solve many problems and address important issues - from homelessness to education gaps; from access to healthcare to hunger. But at the root of many of these issues is the substantial level of poverty in Central Texas. Texas has one of the highest amounts of poverty in the nation; Austin itself has a higher level of poverty than Houston. As the cost of living rises and the economy tightens, how can the community come together to fight against poverty and create a high quality of life for all of its citizens?
