Polly Scallorn Scholarship Fund

Polly Scallorn was the founding Executive Director of Leadership Austin from its inception in 1979 until October 1994.  Her dedication, commitment and length of service to the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Austin was unparalleled.  In 1995, Leadership Austin created the Polly Scallorn Community Trustee Award, an annual honor awarded to an alumnus of the Leadership Austin Essential Class who exemplifies the principles of community trusteeship, inclusiveness, collaborative decision-making, and personal responsibility over a lifetime of achievement.

In addition, a formal scholarship fund was established in Polly’s name to honor her commitment to making leadership education accessible to everyone.  Contributions to this fund provide tuition assistance to qualified participants of Leadership Austin’s Essential Class, and enables Leadership Austin to ensure that the Essential Class is a truly diverse representation of our community.
